Après une vie entière de silence, Léa, Noëlle, Monique, Simone et Marie-José décident, à près de 80 ans, de poursuivre l'État belge pour crime contre l'humanité. Nées au Congo d’une mère noire et d’un père blanc, elles ont été arrachées à leur famille lorsqu’elles étaient enfants dans le cadre d’une politique systématique de ségrégation raciale menée durant la période coloniale. Mêlant témoignages, archives et séquences d’animation, le film retrace leur combat pour la reconnaissance, la justice et la réparation, tout en mettant en lumière un chapitre longtemps occulté de l’histoire coloniale belge.

Combining testimonies, archival footage, and animated sequences, the film retraces their fight for recognition, justice, and reparations, while shedding light on a long-hidden chapter of Belgian colonial history.
